In this intermediate class we will work a set of soup bowls using 2 lbs of clay. We will focus on different shaping techniques and foot methods. Next, we'll cover bottle forms which can be used to store oil - we will factor in the possibility of adding a cork or oil cruet. Independent project desires are also welcome! More attention will be given to decorating techniques such as sgraffito (drawing through a layer of slip to reveal the clay underneath) and mishima (filling engraved surfaces with slip.)
This class is best suited for those who have prior experience throwing.

Classes are small in size (4/5 people) which allows students to accelerate faster with more one on one instruction. The first five weeks will consist of creating and trimming, followed by a glazing and decorating week 6. The course will include 10 lbs of clay and tools. Please note a $50 deposit is required to reserve your spot, the balance of $300 is payable on the first week of class.
